Prahita Opensource Project

Prahita Opensource Project aims for enabling Myanmar Unicode in Opensource Softwares (mainly in GNU/Linux). The development may include Libraries, Fonts and Other utilites. The first step now is Myanmar Pango Module and may extend to Myanmar Linux Distribution / LiveCD.

Why Prahita?

"Prahita" is a Pali derived word that means "good or welfare of others". My spelling may be wrong and someone may argue it should be Parahita. But don't forget the first Pa is pronounced without inherent vowel sound. Actually, it is inspired by the name "Ubuntu" of a very popular Linux distribution that means "humanity to others".
